[As primary base for the scientists observing The Pit, their head quarters is fashioned into an area resembling a sanitized bunker with a concrete, fortified entrance.

Steel tables and chairs are scattered here and there, along with an assortment of medical supplies and documents. Along one wall, there is an ever flickering line of screens, each one displaying a different area of The Pit from multiple angles.

This is obviously an place for dirty work, and is less lived in than that of the Stalkers' roost, though there is a spare cot or two in case of an unplanned all nighter.]

PostSubject: Watching and Waiting   Scientist HQ I_icon_minitimeWed Apr 14, 2010 10:35 pm

The fluorescent lights in the other room cast shadows in the dimly lit room through a partially opened door. Monitors beeped and lights blinked as a dark figure looked them over. After making a few adjustments, he was assured that everything was as it should be and walked away from his two "patients" on the cold, steel tables, heading towards the other room.

It was much lighter in this room but it didn't bother him because of the sunglasses he always wore. The cots lay beside the wall untouched and the chairs at the tables barely used. They were always busy doing this or that and didn't really stop to use their furnishings. The papers were always neat and the medical supplies organized. There could be no delay in finding things while working as it would only slow them down.

He walked over to a wall that was lined with screens that displayed what was going on in The Pit from various angles. Walking down the line, he inspected them and the people that were being shown in the environment. He watched those that were awake and watched those who were just waking, analyzing every moment and recording the data the he observed from the specimens.

The Mortician stood before the screens watching the experiments and waiting.

PostSubject: Stalker Torran: Drop and Report.   Scientist HQ I_icon_minitimeMon May 10, 2010 11:07 pm

He moved quickly through the shadows of the buildings away from the Cathedral where he made his drop. Now he had to report to the scientists in the sub-city. As he moved through the shadows, he watched some of the 'patients' who were already awake as they moved about. It amused him to watch for a while in the safety of the shadows before moving on. It was a long trek back, or maybe that was because he took the long way around? It didn't matter to him as he briefly visited a rusted carnival area before moving on. The scientists didn't like to be kept waiting...

The sub-city was well hidden so that the experiments wouldn't find it but he knew it well enough. He was quick and quiet as he slid into the underground headquarters and moved towards the monitoring room inside. The brighter lights sent the darkness running as he opened the door and stepped inside. One scientist stood watching the monitors. He wore a long, black coat and sunglasses, which seemed unnecessary as inside...

"Torran," the man said quietly, "There you are." As if he couldn't see him on those monitors moving through the city any way. It irritated Torran slightly but he remained silent and communicated by thought.

Drop complete. Anything more?

"You have a voice, why not use it?" he asked, although he knew the answer. Torran watched the Mortician carefully as he awaited further instruction.

"There is nothing more." Mortician said dismissively and gestured for him to leave. Torran turned and left, trying to decide whether he should go find the other stalkers in the city or play around with the experiments. He decided on finding the others.
